PSFK Asia...and Jeff Staple...

The psfk conference was a real highlight. Special thanks go out to
Paul and Bryan from poolatwork. The psfk conference included an up
close and personal session with Jeff Staple, the main man behind the
Nike pigeon dunk collection as well as show and tell session hosted by
MTV Asia.

The meeting with Jeff Staple was really inspiring. Its hard to believe
how down to earth he is in spite of his success. He gave us really
strong advice and took a real and avid interest in our work.

In fact there were times where he seemed quite impressed with the standard of
works being shown to him. (cheers to the group of hard core creatives!
) At some point my friend Jonathan Leong from mutant style suggested
having group show with all of us in his gallery - Reed Space in NYC. (
That's freakin brave by the way jon ). Perhaps it may happen someday.
It will be like a reunion for all of us who attended his session and got inspired.

The thing about Jeff Staple is that even though he is a creative, he
also understands about the business aspect of the art world and is
able to bring together creative freedom and commercial viability in
his projects. I think that's something I can totally do more research
on. Jeff you are the 'shen'. For now I still have to shoot what other
people want to make moolah to do what I want. Sian. But nothing is
impossible for him who believes and im sure we will all get to where
we really want someday.

Jeff also blogged about his experience in his widely read blog:

Another cool stuff that happened was the exhibition we had at night
after the conference. Its not often that we get to show our works in such a way among the
top creatives in the world. Some of us even sold some stuff. Congrats
to Eeshaun and Steve. We also appeared in the AWE5OME booklet. Please
check out the booklet on mutantstyle.com. Its freakin well done! ( I
love the layout and the blacks ) And you can see all our cock faces
inside. Haha.
